Political Mobilization of Cross-Border Live-in Care Workers
Petra is looking in her ethnographic research on a specific countermovement seeking protection from the socio-economic effects of care marketisation. She is focusing on the overlapping interests of Slovak cross-border live-in care workers and state actors both in Slovakia and in Austria. She will analyse transnationalisation, everyday practices of moral economies of Slovak live-in care workers and their active practices of collective and political resistance in times of the care crisis. The project is a part of international collaborative research project CareOrg (VW Stiftung): Researching Transnational Organization of Senior Care and Mobility in CEE.
