Quirin Rieder

Quirin Rieder

Quirin is a postdoctoral researcher at LMU Munich, Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology. He completed his PhD at University of Vienna in 2026. His thesis looked at struggles around uneven access to electricity in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan-administered Kashmir. During his studies, he also worked on the socio-political implications of infrastructure and energy transitions regarding, for example, energy cooperatives in Germany.

Quirin currently works on a new project on inflation as contested value-shifts, which tries to understand how inflation is made, negotiated, and politicised in everyday life.
